Delights of the February Garden ~ RHS Special Event

The Delights of the February Garden at Aberglasney is one of the Royal Horticultural Society’s recommended events for 2010 and is on Sunday, February 28 from 2-4pm. Sold Out

FRESH, fragrant February is one of the best months to be out and about in the garden – according to gardeners at Aberglasney.

Some of the sweetest-smelling flowers are already making an appearance at the historic Carmarthenshire gardens which have been planted for all-year interest.

Graham Rankin, director of operations at Aberglasney said: “The snowdrops are as lovely as ever and a delight to see after the cold, frosty weather of the winter so far. Our snowdrops are flowering just outside the Lower Walled Garden.

“As well as snowdrops we have wonderful Winter Sweet, a wonderful Chinese winter flowering shrubs with an evocative heavy fragrance.

So stunning are the scents of winter that Aberglasney is hosting a one-day-only guided tour as a precursor to spring, taking in all the garden has to offer.

The Delights of the February Garden at Aberglasney is one of the Royal Horticultural Society’s recommended events for 2010 and is on Sunday, February 28 from 2-4pm. Price is £9.95 for RHS members and £11.95 for non-members. Tickets include a light lunch of soup and wine followed by a leisurely stroll around the garden highlighting plants of seasonal interest.

Tickets must be booked in advance. Contact Aberglasney on 01558 668 998 or the RHS ticket line on 08456 121 253.
